Camera Obscura Blog: All

Hello chaps
I am learning how to update a real website by myself. I am trembling with super-geek nerves.
we’re having a good time just now. really enjoyed the UK shows last week, it was good be out celebrating the album with actual people. Just having a day off for doing laundry then we’ve got shows in Belfast and Dublin.
We’re as happy as you can imagine to have sneaked in to the UK top 40 album chart at no. 32. amazing, thanks to everyone who bought the record.
we’re getting quite into winning these days so i hope you can help us out again. the french navy video is the thing to champion and it can be done here http://www.mtvu.com/category/music/the-freshmen/. I have been told that you have to be in the USA to vote but it might be worth a shot anyway… and you can vote more than once. should you fancy developing repitive strain injury, who would I be to stand in your way?
once you’ve done your work you can reward yourselves by watching this

Clicking over and over. If it doesn’t get you here to California faster, then at least it fills the too-many hours yet remaining. I’ll wave from the crowd with my wrist brace. :)

The Irish and North American audiences are in for a treat because Camera Obscura (and Attic Lights) were on fire in Glasgow. Just watch out for sneezy Mexicans!

PS
I think that Tracyanne looks a touch like the wife (and daughter) of a guy on the radio in Scotland. Hope you managed to sign CD for Cerys Mathews sounded touch nervous!!

Post Script again!
Your new album captures those classic moments when it all comes together and you make the seminal album with ALL the tracks gelling. Other examples are Wincing The Night Away (The Shins), Soul Mining ( The The), Armed Forces ( The Man!), Grace ( JB), Born in The USA ( BS), The Invisible Invasion (The Coral), The Seldom Seen Kid (Elbow)One World (JM).Wierd how some ones are made and never touch that pinnacle again but you team will as you strive for perfection! Could/would love to go on!! There is no formula for it just becomes a classic!! Every track is ace even on first listening. So well crafted and executed.
Cheers

I found your music by accident while browsing cd’s in a music store. “Lets get out of this country” happened to be in the front of the rack and the cover drew me in. (I actually walked away from it, but it kept pulling me back like a magnet). No lie. Anyway, I played a few songs there in the store and that feeling you get inside when hearing something sweet and beautiful came over me.(honest). Thanks for restarting my heart and bringing me back to life. Your show in Philly was great!

Very neat interview with Tracyanne.
I know you can’t help having certain feelings. But, there’s no reason for her to have stage fright. Not with the fantastic songs she writes, and an audience that loves them. Be strong and proud! BTW: Great shows in Philly and New York.
