I’m happy to tell you that Owen Holmes (bassist with Black Kids) has made a new record under the name Gospel Music. The ep is called Duettes and I did one with him on a crackin wee tune called Automobile. You can listen/watch the video here…http://pitchfork.com/news/tags/owen-holmes/
I hope you enjoy it.

Bumped into Natalie Agent Ribbons on Congress – it’s a small world.
Ate some delicious lunch at The South Congress Cafe – It’s my favourite place to eat in Austin. They do a wonderful tomato and stilton soup. I know for a fact that everyone from the UK on tour longs for soup. Right?
Bought my boyfriend an Austin slogan T. He loves Austin and wants us to move there. Yikes!
Watched the first episode of Deadwood. I’ve actually completed the whole lot but I’m starting again. Is it wrong to find Iain McShane attractive? Probably.
I listened to a lot of Belinda Carlisle post gig. She was the first artist I ever saw in Concert. I still love her big time, and so does sound man Kenny Mac.
You were wonderful Austin. We loved the loud singing, and the free pizza.

After following that yellow brick road in Kansas we ended up in the very pretty town of Norman in Oklahoma.
I ate a sandwich that was made by Larry Hagman’s doppelganger. Funbags.
I was tempted for the first time in years to climb a tree. I’m a big big fan of the Dogwood variety – beautiful.
I watched the first episode of Ashes to Ashes series three. It was magic. I’m diggin’ Alexe’s new hair do.
I drank a horrible local beer called Pig’s eye and listened to Felt, The Cure and Cults.
We played out debut show in Oklahoma and we loved it.

In Kansas I went to the movies and watched Shutter Island.
Then I followed a yellow brick road and strangely enough I don’t remember what happened after that.
Weird.

Chicago
We played another sold out show. Great stuff Chicago.
I didn’t quite get around to having a Chicago dog – next time…I ate a taco instead.
I bought stamps – it costs 98 cents to send a postcard to the UK. This means using 2 stamps at 45 cents and one at 10 cents. This means not much space for writing. Just as well if you’re as fascinating as me!
I listened to Steel guitar Rag by Jimmy Day.
I watched Broken Embraces by Pedro Almodóvar.
I resisted buying a new guitar. I am on the look out for a Gibson 335.
I read a few chapters of The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers.
I drank an Old Fashioned after the show
I let Kenny Mac tuck into my salt and vinegar crisp stash.

I didn’t go jogging.
I called my best friend because it’s her birthday – Happy Happy Birthday dearest.
I ate a cream egg. I brought 6 on tour with me.
I Watched The wrestler.
Listened to Hushabye by the Mystics.
I ate Pizza.
I laughed out loud in Wallgreen’s because they had sweets/candy called Minty Nips.
Showered in the creepiest hotel ever, so glad to get out alive.
Had a great time at The High Noon saloon in Madison
Interesting…..

I went jogging, sort of. Now my legs hurt.
Ate a sesame seed bagel with egg and cheese.
Found my boyfriend a Speedy West Lp in second hand record shop.
Thought it would be nice to be a big cat so I bought a leopard print jumper and a pendent with a leopard on it.
Watched the film Junebug in my bunk.
Listened to Hot Chip
Played a fantastic show at The Blue Moose Tap House. What a great way to start the tour!
