Fancy an Ice Cream with us? 27 May 2010

HELLO

We are delighted to tell you about a little day out thing we have up our sleeve…
presenting Camera Obscura at the Ice Cream Social…

CAMERA OBSCURA will be setting up shop at Brooklyn Flea on Sunday June 6th, and performing their crafty brand of critically acclaimed pop for a very special performance which also marks the debut of live music at the Flea.

The band will also set up their very own table and will sell their wares, including some items created especially for this event. Since you can’t have an “ice cream social” without ice cream, our friends at Blue Marble Ice Cream will be joining in the fun and have created a special flavor in the band’s honor – “The Sweetest Cream” in honor of the band’s song “The Sweetest Thing” – available with or without honey – in honor of the band’s song “Honey In The Sun”! ‘

Sounds amazing right?

Why wouldn’t you want to go?

    Dear Camera Obscura,

Would it be possible to arrange an interview with you in person or by telephone or even via email?

I am a journalism student in Glasgow and I love your music.

My feature is about Glasgow bands, their success stories, how Scots in particular react and respond to such success and it would provide readers with unusual facts about Glasgow bands.

Look forward to hearing from you.
    Warm regards,

Hello there Camera Obscura! Umm I’ll keep it brief. I just wanted to say thank you for the great music; the comfort that it gave(and still does) when life was difficult is beyond words, so very evoking it makes me feel alive when I’d feel dead without it + somehow it made me feel not so lonely, like I have some connection. You guys have really had a profound effect on my life, but I won’t bore youse and leave it at that. Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to see you guys live :)

    Hi All,

    I absolutely love your music!

This is Joe, a new fan; I have a company in Silicon Valley, California.

Also I love the name ‘Camera Obscura’, and wonder if it relates to the Cliff House in San Francisco.

Here’s a fun but probably-not-very-practical idea: if I built a cool recording studio in SF, could I lure you back out here for a visit?

If we worked things out right, I would pay your expenses.

I know it’s nuts – but listening to you play is worth it to me.

    Please write back?

    Dear Tracyanne and company:
    Your music moves me.
I wish I could be in your band.
    That is all.
Oh, except: thank you for your art.

After having heard about your band on a number of occasions…I eventually got round to listening to your stuff last Tuesday. Really amazing songs. The first pop music to actually excite me in about 10 years. Hoping to hear some new material soon.

    Thank you x
